Inspiration: Erte's love of the sumptuous was given its richest expression in the furs with which he swatched the woman for whom he designed. In 1974 he again referred to his passion in a serigraph entitles "Furs," based in an earlier cover design for Harper's Bazaar. A decade later he turned once more to the subject of furs, this time translating the fox collar so popular in the 30's and 40's ito jewelry design- which Erte referred to as "furs that can be worn year-round."
