227994 Erte Aphrodite pocketwatch 2007 Pocketwatch- "Aphrodite" hand applied enamel, hand inlaid trip and numerals. The Art of Time masterpieces have the Erte signature on the dial and buckles. All are 3 anthem water tested. Every case features stainless steel and in layered in 5 microns of 18K gold plating. 17" stainless steel chain, 2 inches in diameter. The movement is the highes quality quartz. All the watches are powered by a single battery and a quartz crystal, oscillating at 32,768/sec. It is accurate to within three seconds a year. Inspiration: it is based on an early painting by Erte called "The Wave." In this work he alludes in the title to the mythic emergence of the Greek goddess of love from the sea, a story most familiar with reference to her Roman form, Venus.
