102748 Chagall, Marc Cirque 1967 M. 501; C. 68 16 3/4'' x 12 5/8'' Lithograph in color on Arches wove paper. Signed in pencil and annotated 'HC'. An hors commerce impression aside from the numbered edition of 24. The original suite of images contained 38 lithographs (23 in color and 15 in black and white). For the edition of 24 suites, only the 23 color images were produced, each signed by the artist. There were also 270 suites on Arches wove (250 copies numbered 1 to 250 and 20 hors commerce copies numbered in Roman from I to XX) which contained 38 lithographs, each unsigned. Published by Editions Verve, Paris. Printed by Mourlot, Paris.
