183763 Rembrandt Van Rijn Beggar Woman Leaning on a Stick B. 170, BB. 46-A, 3 1/4'' x 2 1/2'' Etching and drypoint on thin laid paper with large, clean margins. Signed and dated Rembrandt. f 1646, bottom center. Biorklund Barnard's second state of two, Nowell Eusticke's third state of six with the corners slightly rounded, and after the lower portion of the curl in the "f" in the signature is cut off terminating well in front of the "t" of Rembrandt's name. According to Nowell Eusticke, a late third state impression as issued by P.F. Basan (1785-1797) still showing the vertical scratches in the lower right corner and with the four clear verticals below the button. Nowell Eusticke refers to this print as a "very uncommon, delicate plate".
