Numbered on the justification page from the edition of 205 (an edition of 25 with an additional etching on Japon Imperial paper and a Roman numbered edition of 20 also exists). Signed on the justification page by the artist and Andre Malraux. Published by Maeght, Paris. Executed in 1977, Et Sur la Terre was a collaborative effort between Chagall and his long time friend Andre Malraux. Malraux won the Nobel Prize for Literature and was a Minister of Culture for the goverment of Charles de Gaulle. The 15 etchings bring to light Malraux's 1939 text detailing his experiences in the Spanish Civil War. A hero in the Resistance against the Nazis, Malraux's text is beautifully illuminated in this collection of etchings.
