206841 Rembrandt Van Rijn Diana at the Bath 1631 B., Holl.201; BB. 31-4 7'' x 6 1/4" Etching on laid paper with threadbare margins. Signed in the plate, RHL f., lower right. Biorklund Barnard's first and only state, White and Boon's first and only state and Nowell Eusticke's first and only state showing very little wear in the shadows underneath the breast. According to Nowell Eusticke, an intermediate first state impression showing the outline of the stomach and breasts strengthened. A seventeenth century impression. Nowell Eusticke refers to this as "a rather scarce print" and rates it R+ (with 75-125 in collections across the world). Plate no longer in existence.
