255923 Chen, Alexander Santorini 2010 Chine-colle silkscreen on rice paper mounted on watercolor paper. Hand-painted by the artist with gold in the foreground. Signed in pencil lower right and marked with the artist's chop mark in Chinese. Each silkscreen is also individually remarqued with a pencil drawing in the lower margin. From the printer's proof edition of 10. Chen has stated, "The mission for me is to create extraordinary silkscreens that closely embody the feeling, intensity and vision of my original paintings." He also believes printing on rice paper allows him to pull a more detailed graphic. Chen's attention to detail and the labor intensive process he uses in his creation is evident in each one of the hand-painted variation silkscreens in this edition.
