The artist uses an abstracted version of the gallery at Park West as the setting for his subjects to admire works of art, to discuss politics or share an evening with friends. The gallery is colorful, vibrant and full of life, his subjects are expressive and engaged. Highlighting the economic events in the year 2008, Glenn makes a statement about the persistence of culture. He shows that even in challenging times, with the writing literally "on the wall", the art gallery remains a relevant and important fixture. Although the gallery guests are not looking directly at the Picasso behind them, it is still acknowledged and remains a large part of the composition. Marcus Glenn has made a statement about pressing issues but not forgetting that art is a vital and important part of life that will always reflect the times.
