Alpina Geneve

234881 Alpina Geneve Mens Watch In 2002, Frederique Constant Geneve purchased Alpina Watch International SA, a brand deeply rooted in the history of Swiss watchmaking. It began in 1883 when Gottlieb Hauser, watchmaker in Winterthur, founded the Swiss Watchmakers Corporation. The concept was simple: watchmakers would join to purchase watch components and organize their manufacturing. From this the brand Alpina took shape and was initially featured only on dials of high-end watches. In the early 20th century, Alpina participated in the German watch manufacturing market, joining with the German union of watchmakers. Some of the first watches produced were purchased by the German Navy, establishing Alpina as a brand of technical-sports watches. Despite the conflict between the Allies in both World Wars, changes in the union of watchmakers and the emergence of electronic watches, Alpina remained. Now with the acquisition of the company, the brand has again been refreshed with the classical style of Frederique Constant merging with the sport utility heritage of Alpina.
